A Note on the Rainbow Connection of Random Regular Graphs

چکیده
We prove that a random 3-regular graph has rainbow connection number O(log n). This completes the remaining open case from Rainbow connection of random regular graphs, by Dudek, Frieze and Tsourakakis.

Rainbow Connection of Random Regular Graphs
An edge colored graph G is rainbow edge connected if any two vertices are connected by a path whose edges have distinct colors. The rainbow connection of a connected graph G, denoted by rc(G), is the smallest number of colors that are needed in order to make G rainbow connected. In this work we study the rainbow connection of the random r-regular graph G = G(n, r) of order n, where r ≥ 4 is a c...

متن کاملNote on rainbow connection in oriented graphs with diameter 2
In this note, we provide a sharp upper bound on the rainbow connection number of tournaments of diameter 2. For a tournament T of diameter 2, we show 2 ≤ − →rc(T ) ≤ 3. Furthermore, we provide a general upper bound on the rainbow k-connection number of tournaments as a simple example of the probabilistic method. Finally, we show that an edge-colored tournament of kth diameter 2 has rainbow k-co...

متن کاملRainbow Hamilton cycles in random regular graphs
A rainbow subgraph of an edge-coloured graph has all edges of distinct colours. A random d-regular graph with d even, and having edges coloured randomly with d/2 of each of n colours, has a rainbow Hamilton cycle with probability tending to 1 as n→∞, for fixed d ≥ 8.
